What documents do you need to submit?
Together with the Golden Visa application form you must attach the following documents:
– Passport or identity card.
– Public or private health insurance arranged with an insurance company authorised to operate in Spain.
– Criminal record certificate.
– Proof of the investment made, by means of the corresponding certificate from the Land Registry.
– Proof of sufficient economic resources for the applicant and his/her family during his/her stay in Spain.
How much does it cost to apply for a visa?
In addition to making the relevant investment, you will have to pay an application fee of €87.57 + lawyer’s fees.
Can the purchase of the property be with a mortgage?
According to Article 64 of Law 14/2013, you cannot use external financing and the property must be free of encumbrances.
However, if you have invested €500,000 of your own, and the price of the property is higher, the rest of the amount can be mortgaged.
Must you have previously lived in Spain?
To apply for the Golden Visa it is not necessary to have previously resided in Spain. But once you have applied, you must make a visit to Spain during the period of residence.
